I work on the premise of disappearance. Life unfolds as a continuous process of loss, built upon the accumulation of things that cannot be retrieved. The more memory is held onto, the more it becomes distorted, and time does not move in a linear way. The nostalgia I speak of is not simple sentimentality, but an impulse that persists even after the awareness of loss.

In this era, technological advancement accelerates the speed of relationships, yet the density of genuine contact diminishes. I define this condition as a “modern dystopia.” Within it, human beings are consumed, sensations erode, and memories scatter into fragments. Nevertheless, until complete extinction, existence does not cease to move toward the other.

My work emerges from this tension between loss and connection. Through materials that are both cold and organic, I metaphorically render the wearing away of the body while simultaneously exploring the force of attraction that continues to operate within disappearance. It is an observation of the point at which consumption and exchange, loss and desire intersect.

I focus on language as a condition of connection. The moment language is uttered, it acquires a magnetic force. Unspoken, it dissipates; once articulated, it begins to act toward the other. I define this operational force as the sexuality of language — an invisible yet perceptible field of tension and attraction through which relationships are formed.

Ultimately, my work does not remain in mourning disappearance. It structures the movement of human beings who, despite being consumed, continue to reach toward one another, and the traces that remain in that process. Through art as a nonverbal language, I seek to reveal that the possibility of connection has not been entirely erased.
